Trade Analyst
Job description:
Support North American power trading activities by ensuring accurate financial results, effective risk oversight, and proper management of trades from execution to settlement. Collaborate closely with trading, risk, and operations teams to resolve issues and streamline workflows, while contributing to team development through guidance and knowledge sharing with less experienced analysts.
Requirements:
- Ensure accuracy of trade valuations, positions, and exposure metrics, including detailed P&L analysis and performance attribution
- Provide support for advanced and non-standard transactions, such as structured deals and new trade implementations
- Serve as a key reference for ETRM platforms and proprietary trading tools
- Partner with risk, finance, technology, and other internal teams to maintain efficient and reliable operational processes
- Guide and support junior analysts through mentoring, task allocation, and review
- Work closely with international teams to align valuation methodologies and reporting standards across regions
Responsibilities:
- Validate pricing, positions, and risk metrics while delivering comprehensive P&L reporting and variance analysis
- Assist with the execution and setup of complex and structured transactions, including new product launches
- Provide functional expertise on trading platforms, ETRMs, and in-house systems
- Work in close partnership with risk, accounting, technology, and cross-functional teams to optimize operational accuracy and efficiency
- Support team development by coaching junior analysts and distributing workload appropriately
- Align valuation approaches and reporting practices through coordination with global counterparts
